INCOGNITO PERFORMS AT LONDON'S FAMED JAZZ CAFE 26 JANUARY 2008

I'm told that Incognito's January 26th show at London's Jazz Cafe was absolutely incredible. Here's a review straight from the UK (courtesy of Mickey Blanco):

WOW WOW WOW and WOW. I ventured to the Jazz Cafe last night for the Cogs and was blown away by the muscianship on show. From the horn section, bass, drums through to the live keys, all my expectations and more were met. Don't get me started on the vocal performances. Tony Momrelle, Joy Rose and Imaani tore the roof off. Was a pleasure to witness the concert from start to finish. Plenty of audience participation and when the crowd were divided in two singing 'Still A Friend Of Mine' it was like a gospel choir, although I daresay I might have been singing out of key :mozilla_surprised: ! Definitely for me a hairs on the back of my neck moment. Was also wonderful all singing 'Always There', as Bluey said on the mike 'thanks for embracing the song so much over the years - this is your song', cue more out of tune vocals from me............

The band were on stage for 2 and half hours and I got the sense they could have carried on allnight which I would have gladly stayed for. When you think this band has almost been in the business for 30 years and fast approaching their 12th album they still have the funk/energy. Bluey spoke emotively of almost giving up the band last year and thanks to an ex-manager who cleared some 'outside' interests related to the band its rejuvanated him and he's working back with his ex-manager Richard ?. He also said he feels he's been writing some of his best material recently.

We were treated to four songs from the new album called 'Tales From The Beach' which is landing at the end of April 2008. First one was Happy People, beautiful vocal that is going to be BIG - can definitely see some potential for some 4/4 action on this one. Other three songs (guessing the titles here!) Whisper Your Kisses, NOT and Step Away (Boogie track as Bluey said), this was stunning. Extremely catchy and am really looking forward to the new album. - Mickey Blanco, January 28, 2008
